The McDonnel Group’s Industrial Division built two auger-cast pile-supported pre-engineered metal buildings for Magnolia Power Generating Station Unit 1. The 8,544 square foot multipurpose Administration and Control Building comfortably holds office personnel and those monitoring the functionality of the plant while protecting everyone inside with 7” fire-rated exterior panels and a fire suppression systems throughout the building. The second pre-engineered metal building is a 5,789 square foot warehouse and maintenance shop for fabrication work and dry storage materials. This project was completed early and under budget, and the team prioritized the DCS Room to complete it two to three months earlier than the rest of the building so the owner could move their equipment in.
