This industrial restoration project refurbished the existing MCC buildings in American Styrenics‘ HVSB unit in St. James, Louisiana. Work included repairing and replacing the existing gravel roof system with a brand new 60 mil roof system and associated sheet metal to protect major high voltage components for the future. McDonnel also detached the capacitor cover structural steel beams from the CMU exterior of the building that was causing shifting and cracking in the CMU, installed new footings and a concrete slab around the existing capacitors, and repaired and replaced cracked CMU around the exterior of the building. All industrial restoration work was completed while the 16kva remained active.
