Loyola University – Founders Hall

This university renovation project began when The McDonnel Group was contracted to replace windows at Loyola University’s Founders Hall. Prior to construction commencing, the scope of work doubled to include new duct work and sprinklers, the addition of offices, a new kitchen on the second floor, a new washer & dryer room on the first floor, new flooring, and freshly painted walls. This additional work was expected to add 30 days to the completion time, which was to be billed at a daily rate. By taking an aggressive approach, McDonnel was able to complete the entire revised university renovation project scope in the time originally allotted for just the window replacement, essentially doubling the delivered work while charging no additional general contractor fees to Loyola.
