JW Marriott Hotel
This renovation project began in July 2012 on a fast-track schedule and was completed by the end of the year, – just in time for guests to enjoy the hotel’s lavish upgrades for the Sugar Bowl and New Orleans’ 10th year as the host of the Superbowl in 2013. Work crews were scheduled 6 days a week with some 2nd shifts when necessary in order to accomplish this aggressive goal.
Components include:
- Main Entry Lobby and entry Porte Cochere: new flooring, new ceilings, new millwork, new check-in desk, paint/wall covering, re-staining the existing wood panels, and new lighting
- Lobby Bar and Lounge: remove & enlarge existing bar, reconfigure lounge area, new flooring, new ceilings, new wall-to-wall casework in lounge, new back bar, and new lighting
- New Structural Glass Canopy and Cladding (Canal Street entrance)
- 3rd floor Pre-Function Area, Meetings Rooms, and Ballrooms: new flooring, new ceilings, paint/wall coverings, re-staining the existing wood panels, and new lighting
McDonnel’s extensive hospitality construction experience enabled this project to be completed in such a short time frame and with little interruption to hotel staff and guests.
