City of New Orleans Youth Study Center & Juvenile Justice Center
The new Youth Study Center for the City of New Orleans features state-of-the-art security systems for management efficiencies. The facility is approximately 60,000 SF and includes:
- 40 individual beds (cells) for juvenile law-breakers
- Day rooms and multipurpose activity rooms
- Inmate intake and processing areas
- Visitation areas
- Education area with classrooms and a library
- Medical area with exam rooms and doctor’s offices
- Cafeteria and kitchen
- Indoor and outdoor basketball courts
- 1,700 SF conference center
The Juvenile Justice Center is a 47,000 SF facility adjacent to the Study Center that includes four new courtrooms for district juvenile court judges, judge’s chambers, law clerk and administrative offices, conference rooms and attorney offices.
